Description

In many aspects of the information society, mobile and pervasive systems are having a profound impact on personal and business activities. These include enhancements to operational effectiveness of businesses and the mobility of consumers generally. This unit examines systems and technologies that factor in the success of such systems. Selected technology and research areas are investigated to build appreciation of challenges facing such deployments.

The aim of this unit is to:

1. Articulate the key concepts that characterise mobile and ubiquitous systems for end-users
2. Explore the respective benefits and limitations for and of mobile and ubiquitous technology
3. Develop and describe a design for a mobile and pervasive technology challenge
